Pacific Ridge School is a college preparatory, co-educational independent school located in beautiful Carlsbad, California, approximately 25 miles north of San Diego. We offer a rich and challenging program to 430 students in grades 7-12, with an annual operating budget of approximately ten million dollars.

Pacific Ridge School is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations. This person will report to the Co-Heads of School, and will be responsible for establishing and managing the financial, operational, and physical infrastructure of the School, supervising the controller and five other finance and administrative staff members, plus outside vendors.

Acting as a trusted advisor and otherwise providing support to the Co-Heads of School on all administrative matters pertaining to finance and operations, and working as a member of the School?s senior administrative team, the Director of Finance and Operations specific duties will include the following:

Finance:

?Employing well-developed financial analysis and modeling skills to guide the School in executing its long term strategic plan, overseeing the execution of a master plan for a new campus, directing the development and management of the annual operating budget, and cash management and the financial control system.

?Overseeing the systems, processes and technology necessary to carry out all the financial and administrative functions of the school.

?Assessing insurance liability issues and overseeing risk management for the School.

?Liaising with the financial institutions on such issues as debt and cash management and otherwise maintaining ongoing relationships with these institutions.

?Supporting Finance, Audit, Development, and Facilities Committees of the Board of Trustees.

?Overseeing and training focused and highly efficient finance team.

?Coordinating annual audit and tax filings with outside auditors.

Operations:

?Overseeing all aspects of the School plant including the purchase or lease of property, the construction or renovation of facilities, and the maintenance, upkeep, and security of the premises.

?Assessing and overseeing a human resource program including competitive salary and benefits policies that will attract and retain high quality faculty and staff.

?Applying information systems in response to both educational needs and evolving technology.

?Overseeing Information Technology department.

?Interacting with public agencies, the city, the county and the state regarding issues of institutional concern.

?Overseeing and training a highly efficient administrative team.
